John Braun

Founder/President & Chairman of the Board

John Braun has been the President and Chairman of the Board at Dynamis, Inc. since its inception in February 2008, bringing with him more than 30 years of experience in government and military issues. Prior to Dynamis’ founding, John served as the Vice President of Washington, DC Operations for Teledyne Technologies, where he acted as the senior executive for Teledyne in the National Capital Region. Prior to that, John was the Appropriations Associate and Military Legislative Assistant to Congressman Bud Cramer, supporting the Congressman’s work on the House Committee on Appropriations and the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. In this role, John advised the Congressman on issues relating to defense, aerospace, tax, trade, international affairs, small business, labor, federal employees, agriculture, veterans’ affairs, and technology. 

John has worked in several roles with the U.S. Armed Forces, including serving in the Pentagon as a Senior Policy Analyst in the National Security Policy Division of U.S. Air Force Headquarters, and as a Congressional Analyst in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition. 

Prior to relocating to DC, John worked in campaign politics in the State of Alabama, where he acted as a Political Director for several local and state-wide political campaigns.

In recognition for his service to his country and his community, John was awarded an honorary appointment as a Colonel in the Alabama Army National Guard. In 2014, he was appointed to the Virginia Secure Commonwealth Panel by Governor Terry McAuliffe, where he supervised statewide emergency preparedness, response, and recovery initiatives in Virginia. In 2018, Governor Ralph Northam appointed Mr. Braun to the Board of the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, where he focuses most of his attention on safety and security matters for the traveling public.  

John is also active in many civic and charitable organizations throughout the Washington, DC area. He has served on several boards, including the World Affairs Council, the Northern Virginia chapter of Stop Child Abuse Now (SCAN), and the Pheo Para Alliance, a charitable organization dedicated to the search for a cure to neuroendocrine diseases.
