What is Dynamis?

Dynamis (Greek δύναμις) is an Ancient Greek word with great meaning in our profession.  The Greeks knew long ago that superior training, intelligence, weapons, and tactics led to success in the field.  However, they also knew that there was another force – a much more powerful force – that served as the well spring and the source for all of these innovations.  They knew that those who possessed this trait could defeat far superior forces and trump those with every advantage.  Today, we call it heart or drive or spirit.  The Greeks called it dynamis – the will to win.
